Everything above the chassis has now been removed (as the new owners requested). Some metal work and salvageable items have been kept, the rest has been either scrapped or burnt. It arrived at the railway over 40 years ago but has had little work done to it during that time. Hopefully it will now have a more positive future. Tele handler training is taking place over concurrent weekends. Training to use the crane wagon will shortly take place as well. Tidying of the site continues, with more wood being cut ready for lighting up purposes. With thanks to Doug and Dave for the additional information provided for this update A volunteer open day will take place on Sunday 26th March. A morning (10am) and afternoon (1pm) session will take place for prospective new volunteers and members, to see the work that we do and the mental and physical benefits that volunteering at the railway can bring. Visitors will be able to see our steam and diesel locomotives, visit a coach undergoing restoration, see P-Way demonstrations and enjoy a brake van ride to Horsehay and Dawley station. At all times, existing volunteers will be on hand to explain and discuss their roles and answer any questions. Please see our website for full information.
