ONBOARD FACILITIES AND ACCESSIBILITY
We strongly recommend all wheelchair and mobility vehicle users to seek advice prior to booking.
Unfortunately, our current fleet of heritage coaches do not have any wheelchair access due to the way they were constructed over 50 years ago, however, when we are running services using our ‘Pacer’ trains there are wheelchair spaces available. We can accommodate wheelchairs that are within the dimensions prescribed in government regulations covering public transport (700mm wide by 1200mm long). For those who are able to walk a short distance, wheelchairs can be folded and carried in the brake van.
The train crew and station staff will be happy to assist passengers in wheelchairs if required.

PUSHCHAIRS & BUGGIES
Pushchairs & Buggies can be accommodated on our trains but must be stored in the Guard’s Van when travelling. It may be necessary to fold these items during busy periods or at the Guard’s discretion.
DOGS
We do allow dogs on our trains but politely remind passengers that they are not allowed on the seats at all times.
Assistance dogs are allowed to accompany their owner in all areas of the site.

MOVING TOWARDS AN ACCESSIBLE FUTURE
At Telford Steam Railway we are busy making our attraction accessible for all. We are currently working on renovating a coach which will allow us to provide wheelchair users easy access to ride on our services. We are hopeful of having this ready to enter service in time for our 2021 running season. Unfortunately our current fleet of heritage coaches do not have any wheelchair access due to the way they were constructed over 45 years ago.
OUR ACCESSIBLE ROLLING STOCK
Over the last 2 years our volunteers have been hard at work creating an easy access coach which will enable wheelchair users to use our services during our operating days. This will allow them to participate fully in their family's day out.
Whilst the coach isn't ready to enter service just yet we thought we'd share some photos. The vehicle is a 1960's BR MK2 BSO classification of coach which stands for Brake Standard Open. This will feature wheelchair access, a serving counter for on-train snacks, and additional seating on our train!

We need to raise £20,000 to help finish this project to make us fully accessible for all. Unfortunately we can't do it without your help. Telford Steam Railway have set up a GoFundMe page to allow you to donate towards this ambitious project.
