Volunteer liaison update

Ruston and Hornsby 0-4-0 diesel hydraulic No. 525947 “Rusty”

Work on dismantling the engine has continued. It is believed that the problem is with one of the cylinder heads and this will hopefully be removed over the weekend for confirmation.

Ruston and Hornsby 0-4-0 diesel mechanical No. 313394 “Jammo”

Is being prepared for some attention and maintenance work to its engine and mechanics

North British 0-4-0 diesel hydraulic No. 27414 “Tom”

Is fully operational, and is seeing use on diesel service trains

Class 142 Pacer No. 142058.

Was in service on Sunday 21 May.

BR Class 37 diesel No. 37263

Was at the SVR spring diesel gala. By all accounts she performed very well over the 4 days, and was very popular with the crews and visitors. There is some great footage of her in action on social media and youtube. Well done to her owners.

Permanent Way (P-Way)

Ongoing further line side clearance and burning has taken place south of Horsehay and Dawley station.

Thank you to AJ for the additional information used in this update

We currently have an appeal to buy a new boiler for our narrow gauge steam tram. You can help us greatly by donating at

https://gofund.me/093e7130

As a thank you, we are offering rewards for certain levels of donations, although every single one is gratefully received and will help put our tram back into operation.

Please also consider supporting Telford Steam Railway through the Telford and Wrekin Community Lottery, which is open to anyone in the UK over 16 years old. This weekly draw gives you the opportunity to win prizes up to £25,000. Tickets cost £1 per week and 50p from each ticket sale goes directly to the railway.
