Permanent Way and Infrastructure The drainage work is continuing. A couple of areas of sandstone have had to be cut through to lay the new drains. The last pack of drainage pipes has been delivered to the worksite. More targeted lineside clearance has taken place at various area along the running line. Maintenance work has taken place in the Furnaces tearoom The picnic area has been mowed and general tidying up and rubbish removal has taken place in the rear yard. Tourist Standard Open (TSO) No. 5220. The flooring in the toilet cubicle has been replaced. On Sunday 30 July, we held our model railway exhibition across the railway and the Horsehay Village Hall. With lots of exhibitors and traders, the event was very popular. Many visitors attended and enjoyed not only the layouts, but also the standard gauge trains and the Phoenix Miniature railway, who also had a display of their locomotives on show. Feedback has been very positive, and next years model railway exhibition is already in the the calendars on Sunday 28 July 2024. We hope to see you there! First departure from Spring Village (TF4 2NF - free car park) will be at 11am, with further departures at 12pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Tickets £8 Adults, £5 Children and concessions, £25 Family.
