Weed killing trackside and lineside clearance to improve site lines has taken place with more planned during June.
Our gardeners have been busy with 60 geraniums planted in the flower beds at Horsehay & Dawley station. Spring Village waiting room continues to be repainted. The roof has been repaired, and is now weather proof again Our Model T event was a great success at Spring Village, with a number of different variants on display. We also had a mobile bar on site, which was needed due to the very hot and sunny weather over the weekend. North British No 27414 “Tom” has been withdrawn for repairs. New parts have been ordered and should be fitted this week. Hopefully this will mean that “Tom” will be back in action soon. Pacer No 142058 is being prepared and cleaned ready for our ‘Pacer Day” on 9th June. GWR steam engine No 5619 has a lot of use during May, including both Bank Holiday weekends. Her ongoing maintenance and cleaning regime is paying dividends with very free steaming and efficient use of coal. Thanks to Jacob for the additional information and photographs used in this update. We are next open to the public on Sunday 2nd June for our Exotic Express and vintage mobile bar. Animals and Keepers from the Exotic Zoo, Telford will be on our 12pm and 1:30pm departures from Spring Village. Terms and conditions apply. Please see our website.
