Rails and sleepers are being lifted from the Barrow Crossing back to Horsehay and Dawley Station. Around eight panels have been lifted so far with around 6 more to do. Once this has been completed the track bed can be handed over to our contractors who will install the new drainage pipes for us. The track bed will be returned to us ready for relaying the track and reballasting.
BR class 08 diesel No 08575 was hauling our trains on Sunday. We were delighted to welcome some families of behalf of PODs (Parents Opening Doors) who support families who have a child or young person with a disability or additional need. We invited them to come and take a look at the railway, and ride on the train to assist us in making the railway fully accessible for all. It was a very useful exercise, and we are very grateful for them taking the time to visit us. We hope to see them again soon.
We currently have an appeal to buy a new boiler for our narrow gauge steam tram. You can help us greatly by donating at
As a thank you, we are offering rewards for certain levels of donations, although every single one is gratefully received and will help put our tram back into operation.
