5619 Announced at Llangollen Railway for 2022

The Telford Steam Railway is proud to announce that our GWR 0-6-2T loco No. 5619 will be enjoying a summer holiday at the Llangollen Railway for their 2022 season.

​The locomotive will receive the last of its planned winter maintenance then undergo an annual examination before the locomotive enters passenger service at the Llangollen Railway in time for April. It will be busy hauling passengers along the picturesque Dee Valley this summer before it returns to Telford in time to haul our extremely popular Polar Express trains this Christmas.

The Telford Steam Railway are excited to enter in to a new partnership with the Llangollen Railway and we are more than happy to assist them with their steam loco requirements.

No. 5619 is the oldest preserved member of the 56XX class, being built at Swindon Works in March 1925.
