The Polar Express is a children’s book written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg that was later adapted into the 2004 Motion Picture featuring Tom Hanks. Our supporting staff are there for our customers throughouth their time at our site, whether that be working in catering, retail and customer services, or behind the scenes with our facilities team. We request that all staff be 16 years or older (unless stated otherwise) and must be available from the 18th Nov to the 23rd of December.

Catering Assistant
Are you interested in working as part of the catering team at the Polar Express Train Ride at Telford Steam Railway? We are currently looking for team members to join our team and assist with the operating of our café and waffle stand from mid-November throughout December. This will involve a variety of tasks including serving customers, producing waffles to order and general cleaning of the catering area. The ideal candidate would have previous experience in a catering environment with Level 1 food hygiene. This is not required. Days of work are Tue-Sun. This role would include keeping the site to a satisfactory level of cleanliness, keeping toilets stocked up will consumables throughout the day, emptying bins where required and support on-train staff with pre and post train cleaning. Facilities Team MemberWe are looking for somebody to support our train preparation during our busy Festive Period.
This role would involve, preparing the train (hoover through), ensuring stock levels are adequate for the day ahead onboard the train, checking the train is fully stocked for the upcoming day, moving supplies to the platform in preparation for use. This job is ideal for somebody who is looking to pick up a few hours of hours work everyday throughout the festive period. No prior skill set required. Days of work are Tue-Sun.
