VOLUNTEERING AT THE RAILWAY:
Telford Steam Railway would not exist if it did not have a group of reliable and hardworking volunteers who bring with them a wide range of skills and lots of energy and enthusiasm. The railway is always on the lookout for additional volunteers who can either bring new skills or complement existing skills currently present within the group. So, if you are interested in joining us you would be very much appreciated and you can be sure of a very warm welcome. You don’t need to know anything about a railway and how it all works but it is likely that an interest in railways lurks somewhere in your DNA. There are a few prerequisites to joining the merry band of existing volunteers, such as:. • You must be a fully paid-up member of Telford Steam Railway • You must be prepared to attend an Induction Day and undergo mandatory relevant training courses. The railway has many varied areas where you can contribute such as: • Maintenance of track, rolling stock and general infrastructure • Footplate Crew • Guard • Ticket Inspector • Administration • Catering If you would like more information about volunteering and the benefits to the railway and to yourself please contact John Cutts (Volunteer Liaison Officer) at: firstname.lastname@example.org
