The boiler of Peckett and Sons W6 No 1722 “Rocket” has been lifted from its frames and taken away for overhaul.
All the seats from the narrow gauge tram coach have been sanded and rubbed down, stained and varnished. The baseplate for the boiler has also been painted. The engine of 2ft gauge Ruston 16-20 hp 4-wd No. 229633 has been successfully started up. Cannock & Rugeley Collery Brake Van No.2 has had some work done to it by its owner. One of the rear corners has been rebuilt, new wood added on top of chassis rail and part of the veranda frame replaced. Part of shed road has been lifted (by the new road crossing) and the wooden sleepers have been replaced with concrete ones The line has been jacked and packed and will be reconnected this week for 5619 to be brought out of the shed on Saturday ready for its warming fire. We had a very successful Classic Transport Day on Sunday 23 June, which got us onto the front page of the Shropshire Star newspaper. Cars, buses, motorbikes, and traction engines were all on display.
