Lineside vegetation maintenance has taken place to improve site lines on the approach to Heath Hill Tunnel and Horsehay & Dawley station
Restoration of the narrow gauge steam tram continues with the wooden coach seat frames rubbed down ready to be varnished. The coach floor has been stained, the wooden buffer repainted black and the tram boiler baseplate and frame has been refitted. The benches at Spring Village have been stained and varnished. We are next open to the public on Sunday 23rd June - classic transport day Come and join us at Spring Village and Horsehay & Dawley stations for classic cars, buses, lorries, motorcycles, a traction engine, military vehicles and miniature tractions engines all on display. There is NO car parking available at the railway. Please park at the Horsehay Industrial Estate car park (TF4 3EE) which is less than 5 minutes walk from the railway. GWR 56XX steam engine No. 5619 will be hauling our trains. First departure from Spring Village is at 11am, with further departures at 12pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Ticket prices Adult £10, Children £7, Family £32. Fares include unlimited travel on our standard gauge trains and entry into our model railway exhibition. The Phoenix miniature railway will also be open and offering their ‘driver for a fiver’ deal. (Additional charges apply) Also available Furnaces Tearoom selling hot and cold drinks, meals, chocolate, snacks, cakes and ice creams to eat in or take away. Drinking water for dogs also provided.
