One of the new gates installed at Spring Village which protects the public from the railway has been painted white. This gate is adjacent to the new pedestrian crossing that has been installed.
The platform edge at Spring Village has also been painted white. The final seat in MK2 BSO No 9046 has been refitted. The rotten floor in MK2 TSO No 5221 has been replaced and will now be repainted. Work continues at Lawley Village station with holes being dug to take the new steel platform pillars. The pillars will be concreted into place next. The tram boiler has been positioned back onto the frames. The pipe work will now be refitted. Marine wood has been purchased for the coach sides and roof. Cannock & Rugeley Colliery Brake Van No 2 has had its newly fitted wood painted in primer and undercoat. The verandas side planking has been refitted Our gardeners have been busy weeding the flowerbeds and pedestrian ramp at Horsey & Dawley station. We have recently been loaned a number of replica and original items of railwayana from our supporters. We are very grateful for their generosity in allowing us to display their items to the public at Railway House. Our 2nd annual model railway exhibition was a great success with more visitors attending than last year. There was a great variety of layouts in different gauges from O to Z. The Phoenix Miniature railway also had a display of their groups O gauge models in addition to their 5 inch trains. GWR 56XX steam loco No. 5619 was hauling the trains. The railways permanent model railway exhibition was also open and in operation. Thank you to Jacob, Dave and Pete for the additional information and photographs used in this update.
