Telford Steam Railway takes the safety of our visitors, volunteers and wider community safety. We've spent a great deal of time, effort and money introducing new measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Due to the recent Government announcement with regards to the wearing of face masks from Tues 30th Nov, all our guests will have to wear a face mask during their visit to the Telford Steam Railway for certain elements of their visit. Children under-12 and any individual who is medically exempt do not need to wear a mask.

Under guidance of the local council, Telford & Wrekin, facemasks must be worn at all times on your visit. You are free to remove your mask in our catering outlets and also on the train itself. Rest assured our actors on the train will not be wearing masks as the experience on the train does not fall under the new guidelines. Face masks can be relaxed once on the train so that you can enjoy the experience fully but if you wish to keep your mask on you are more than welcome to.

We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you. As always, we will be closely monitoring any further announcements and will advise you all accordingly.

BOOKING TICKETS:

• All tickets are available on a first come first served basis. Please be advised that there is limited capacity to maintain social distancing. ​

NHS TEST & TRACE:

• We are proud to support the NHS Test, Trace, Protect service to help keep the UK Safe. 

NHS COVID-19 APP:

• We encourage all visitors to install the NHS COVID-19 app in advance of their visit.
• You'll find QR codes around our premises, allowing you to check in to locations as you go. ​

SOCIAL DISTANCING

• We kindly ask all passengers to follow any additional instructions issued by our volunteers on the ground. ​

FACE COVERINGS:

• Face Coverings must be worn during your visit to the Telford Steam Railway.
• For POLAR EXPRESS Passengers please feel free to remove your mask in our catering outlets and also on the train itself

HYGIENE :

• We've introduced regular hand sanitiser stations around our site.
• These are checked regularly throughout the day and replenished when necessary.
• We've also heightened our general cleaning regime, with key areas being cleaned regularly throughout the day.
• Please let our volunteers know if you spot anything that needs addressing. ​

SURFACE SANITISATION:

• All carriage door handles and other key touchpoints (including tables) will be sanitised between services
• Please advise our volunteers if you spot any surface that needs additional treatment. ​

VENTILATION:

• To encourage greater air circulation, carriage windows can be opened during your service. Please keep these open at the recommended amount.​ ​

CARD-PREFERRED AND CONTACTLESS PAYMENTS:

• Please be aware that we are currently accepting both cash and card/contactless payments at the railway
