Introduction
Located on the western side of the historic industrial area of Telford in Shropshire, close to the Ironbridge Gorge, the
Telford Steam Railway
is a preserved railway operated by a small and friendly team of volunteers on
Sundays and Bank Holidays
from Easter to the end of September, and at
Christmas.
Unfortunately our standard gauge steam engine Rocket is currently
receiving its ten year overhaul and all standard gauge services are currently being operated by diesel traction. However,
our narrow gauge steam tram will operate as normal.
Feel free to browse around the site. Take a look at the sections
devoted to the great work the Society is carrying out to restore the railway and the
surrounding site
to its former glory.
We hope you will find this site both informative and interesting. Any suggestions
you may have for future improvements to this website would be most welcome.
Telford Steam Railway
is proud to be associated with the
Phoenix Model Engineering Society which operates a 5in railway on our site.
